Beaver Drill & Tool and MPV Express Partner for 2025 Jesse Hockett “Mr. Sprint Car” Award!
Beaver Drill & Tool and MPV Express have partnered as 2025 sponsors of the Jesse Hockett “Mr. Sprint Car” Award. Thanks to their combined commitment, the total purse has doubled from last year—jumping from $10,000 to $20,000 for Southern Iowa Sprint Week events held at both Knoxville Raceway and Oskaloosa’s Southern Iowa Speedway.
This year, the top three finishers in points will take home increased prize money: $10,000 for first, $6,000 for second, and $4,000 for third.
“We’re proud to once again have the support of both Beaver Drill & Tool and MPV Express behind this prestigious award,” says Knoxville Raceway General Manager, Jason Reed. “Their continued commitment allows us to provide even greater recognition and prize money to the drivers and teams who take on the challenge of competing in all four premier events during Southern Iowa Sprint Week. Jesse Hockett wasn’t just a fierce competitor, he was an incredible person, and it means a lot to us to honor his legacy and his family through this award.”
The Beaver Drill & Tool / MPV Express Jesse Hockett Mr. Sprint Car Award honors the late Jesse Hockett. Hockett was a rising star in both winged and non-wing sprint car racing, collecting 130 feature wins in his short career. Hockett passed away in 2010 at the age of 26 while working in his racing trailer.
