Bio

Lynton has been a staple at the Knoxville Raceway for several years now. 2024 marked four out of five years he has finished fourth in the point standings (in 2023 he was fifth). 2025 will see him piloting the John Trone #39 at Knoxville.

2019 saw a new chapter in the veteran's career as he teamed with the Brian Ridge family and the RSR #83. The team's strong finishes in 2020 resulted in a fourth place standing in points, which they repeated in 2021, with Lynton adding his fifth career 410 win here.

In 2015, Lynton qualified for his third career Knoxville Nationals finale by winning the $10,000 World Challenge for the second time in his career.

Lynton combines racing as a driver, with his skills as a manufacturer. The transplanted Australian has won multiple championships with his popular Vortex wings, including several with the World of Outlaws. After running in Australia, and across the United States, Lynton settled into a weekly routine in 2003 in the Midwest including weekly visits to Knoxville and the Huset’s Speedway (SD), where he won the track title in 2010.

Lynton, who scored 85 career wins in karting starting at the age of seven, moved into formulavees at age 16, and then recorded three wins in six midget starts at age 18 “Down Under”. Once he came stateside, he recorded his first quick time at Knoxville in 2002, and finished sixth in the World Challenge at the Nationals that season.

Lynton finished fifth in the final point standings in 2006. An exclamation point for the year occurred with his first Knoxville win when he took the $5,000 to win Iowa Telecom Summer Classic in dramatic fashion on July 22. In 2009, he flew the Big Game Treestands #24 colors on four occasions to help them win an Owners’ championship.
