The yellow streak up on the high side, that’s Joe Beaver! Joe returns in 2011 for his 13th season aboard the family #53. Father John went into the Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame posthumously in 2010. John was awarded as the 360 "Owner of the Year" in 2002.
Joe spent five years with much success in the go-kart ranks before racing IMCA sprint successfully in 1998. The next year was his first at Knoxville.
Joe’s greatest win to date at Knoxville, has to be his first on June 8, 2002. The win was made more special, because his brother-in-law, Travis Cram, also achieved his first Knoxville win that night in the 410 class. Sevens have been lucky for Joe so far. He has finished seventh in the point standings on four occasions, including 2008.
In 2007 Joe was voted by young fans as the 360 “Junior Fan Club Driver of the Year”, and in 2008 he was awarded the 360 “Lyle Boyd Hard Charger Award” for passing the most cars in feature events.
