Ryan made the four hour tow to Knoxville again in 2009. It was his finest year, as he added another feature win and finished a career-high fourth in the point standings and earning 360 "Most Improved Driver" honors.
Ryan took Knoxville by storm as a rookie in 2007, finishing in the top ten in points and grabbing his first career Knoxville win. Ryan was also named 360 “Owner of the Year” that season for making the tow from Aurora, Nebraska. Ryan improved another spot in 2008, finishing ninth in the final point standings grabbing four top fives along the way.
Ryan won his first career feature event on June 3, 2006 (his first year racing sprint cars) at the Eagle Raceway in Nebraska. Ryan lists among his favorite drivers, Billy Alley. Ryan is Billy’s brother-in-law.
