Think-n-Ink New Partner for 2025 Invert Draw and Best Appearing Helmet Award
KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 27, 2025) – The Best Appearing Helmet Award will return for the 2025 Knoxville Nationals, thanks to a new partnership with Brandon Dunkerson and his company, Think-n-Ink, who will also sponsor the invert draw for all Knoxville Championship Series weekly events.
With increased attention on the invert draw process through social media this year, our track officials and marketing team collaborated to bring more transparency and engagement to the experience. Starting this Saturday, July 27, the winner of the final heat race in each class will draw from a custom-made helmet and pull a “wheel” to determine the invert number. These unique draw items have been designed and created by Think-n-Ink.
As part of this partnership, a $1,000 prize purse will be awarded for the 2025 Best Appearing Helmet Award at the 64th NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s. The total purse includes $500 for the winning driver, $300 for second place, and $200 for third.
“This award originated in 2021 with our friends Calvin and Janna Knapp from Pennsylvania,” said PR-Digital Marketing Manager Eric Arnold. “Last year, we didn’t have the award, and several drivers were disappointed. We wanted to find a way to bring it back, as it was clearly something drivers enjoyed participating in. I’m so thankful we have a new partner stepping up this year to help recognize the incredible creativity that goes into helmet designs.”
“I’m excited to partner with Knoxville Raceway this season, not only to bring back the Best Appearing Helmet Award but also to add some creativity to the invert draw process,” said Brandon Dunkerson, owner of Think-n-Ink. “It’s an honor to be involved with such a historic track and a place that means so much to me personally to support the drivers who showcase their personality and style through their helmets.”
The Think-n-Ink Best Appearing Helmet Award is judged by a panel of track and series officials, photographers, videographers, and racing media. Past winners include James McFadden, McKenna Haase, and Carson McCarl. This award celebrates the visual expression and pride teams bring to sprint car racing’s biggest stage, and we expect the 2025 competition to be more stylish than ever.
