Bio: Matt spend his childhood in his father Doug's race shop. When his father shifted to sprint cars late in his career, Matt decided that would be his focus. At the age of 16 in 1989, he became the youngest Rookie of the Year at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He continued racing while going to chiropractic school and entering the Army National Guard for a time. Picking and choosing his races over the years, Matt counts a 2002 win with the IRA in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin amongst his career highlights.
