Bio:

Few have turned more laps at Knoxville than “TMAC” Terry McCarl. His 44 career victories at Knoxville place him fourth on the all-time list. The six-time track champion (1999-2004) has also secured six titles at the Huset’s Speedway (’96, ’98-’01, ’03), and is the all-time leading feature winner there. The 1985 410 Rookie of the Year has also captured the 360 Nationals on two occasions. Other Knoxville accolades include holding the 4, 11, and 18 lap track records, the 1986 410 “Most Improved Driver” Award, and the “Junior Fan Club Driver of the Year” in 2001 and 2004.

The long-time Knoxville regular has never failed to finish out of the top ten in the season standings, and set out to run the World of Outlaws circuit in 2005. It was the first time he had traveled with that organization since 1992, but he has spent time in his career racing in California and with the All Stars. He finished 9th in WoO points, and repeated that performance in 2006 despite missing over a dozen races with a broken leg. He finished 12th with the group in 2007 and finished a career-best third in the Knoxville Nationals, before a strong 2008 finish earned him a career best 8th in the season ending standings.

In all, TMAC has amassed 231 sprint car wins in 17 states and Australia.
