Matthew entered the sprint car ranks in 2019, having scored over 35 wins in Outlaw Karts. The 2013 English Creek Speedway track champion and 2016 Open 500cc Rookie of the Year was also a two-time English Creek Nationals Champion (2012, 2014).

Matt is currently serving in the military and has for the past six years.

Matt finished a career best eighth in points in 2020.
