SprintCarUnlimited.com Pole Award!

SprintCarUnlimited.com Pole Award!
Friday, August 5, 2022
KNOXVILLE, IA: Sprint Car drivers across the country need to be fast every time they touch the track during the four-day NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s.

The goal during a qualifying night is to get the most points possible through time trials, heat races, and a preliminary main event. The driver who accumulates the most points earns the pole for Saturday’s A-Main, which pays a hefty $175,000 to the winner.

But securing the pole for the finale isn’t the only reward. For the fifth straight year, SprintCarUnlimited.com will hand out a $2,000 check to the driver who accumulates the most points throughout preliminary action and earns the No. 1 spot on the starting grid for the 61st edition of the NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores.

“It’s an honor to be associated with Knoxville Raceway and the Knoxville Nationals again in 2022,” said Jeremy Elliott, owner and operator of SprintCarUnlimited.com. “The Knoxville Nationals is the most prestigious dirt-track race in the world, and it’s a good opportunity to give back to the sport.”

David Gravel earned the 2017 SprintCarUnlimited.com Pole Award with a perfect 500 score. Brad Sweet (2018), Aaron Reutzel (2019), and Gio Scelzi (2021) are also past winners. The 2020 Nationals was lost to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

"We really appreciate Jeremy for his coverage of our event and the sport of sprint car racing as a whole," said Knoxville Raceway Social Media Manager, Eric Arnold. "He does a phenomenal job and we love that he gives back to the sport with this award. Winning the pole and being the top point driver is a big accomplishment and worthy of being recognized this way. We appreciate the partnership we have with SprintCarUnlimted.com for sure."

The 61st annual NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores will take place August 10-13 at Knoxville Raceway. The event features a total purse of nearly $1 million and a driver roster that includes the best Sprint Car drivers in the world.
