Four New Members set for Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame Induction!

The Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame Class of 2020 inductees have been announced by our Hall of Fame Committee! Those being inducted this year will be Ruth Graves, David Hill, Kris Krohn and Randy Martin.
This year marks the 42nd class of inductees. The Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame was established in 1979 and there are currently 203 inductees. The annual induction banquet is tentatively scheduled for Noon, Saturday July 4 in Dyer-Hudson Hall. We will confirm the date of the induction banquet at a later time.
Ruth Graves (Safety Crew) Knoxville, Iowa:
Born in Chicago, Ruth moved to Des Moines where she graduated from East High School and then the Methodist School of Nursing. She moved to Knoxville to work at the V.A. Hospital and then later at the Knoxville Area Hospital where she became the Director of Nursing. Moving to Knoxville led her to become a member of the Knoxville Raceway Safety Crew where her skills and experience helped to set apart the crew here from other race tracks around the country. She served on the crew for 25 years. Ruth is being inducted posthumously.
David Hill (Media) Knoxville, Iowa:
Starting out as a hobby photographer in the 1960’s led David to become a serious photographer. In 1979 Hill became a regular here each race night while he was shooting for local news outlets and for the weekly souvenir programs. His work has since been published in numerous magazines, books, and calendars. He was also an early trailblazer with the creation of selling racing t-shirts at Knoxville. Now starting his 42nd season covering the Knoxville Raceway, Hill is a leader in his craft and has helped numerous other photographers improve their work behind the lens in both the film and digital eras.
Kris Krohn (Media) St. Louis/Knoxville:
Starting out as a videographer in 1988 here, Krohn moved from his St. Louis home to Knoxville in the summers to film nearly every race at Knoxville since 1993. He went on to produce TV shows on local cable channels and is responsible for sending highlights to the local news outlets after each event and for use on social media. He has traveled for years to help film other events for the World of Outlaws, ASCS, and at the Chili Bowl to name a few. He also works with the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum and sells racing DVD’s in their gift shop.
Randy Martin (Driver) California, MO:
Martin was the 1995 Rookie of the Year in the 410 class at Knoxville. He switched to the 360 division the following season and quickly became one of the drivers to beat each week. He went on to win 19 features in the 360 class and two track championships in 1996 and 2001.
