Notable records and achievements at the conclusion of the 16th annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals (LMKN).

*Winner Jimmy Owens set the following records:

-Second driver to win LMKN back to back years.

-Fourth driver to win LMKN twice. Others are Bloomquist, Birkhofer and Marlar.

-Sixth top five finish, tying the record with Bloomquist, Moyer and Richards.

-Ninth top ten finish, ties for second all time with Birkhofer, Moyer, and Franics. Bloomquist has the most at ten.

-Extends his records of laps led to 189 total, and he has led the A Main seven different years.

-Becomes the second oldest winner at 47 years, 7 months, 11 days. The oldest winner is Billy Moyer who was age 52 when he won in 2010.


***Other Records:

-Brandon Sheppard led 13 laps this year, and led 33 last year.

-The drivers that finished second through fifth; Brandon Sheppard, Hudson O’Neal, Devin Moran and Kyle Bronson all earned their first top five finishes at the LMKN..

-Jimmy Mars' streak of qualifying for the Championship A Main ends at 15.

-Scott Bloomquuist started his 15th consecutive A Main (2005-2019).

-Scott Bloomquist set quick time on Friday Night for the fifth time at the LMKN, which is a record.

-Devin Moran finished fourth to earn LMKN Rookie of the Year. That is the highest finish for a rookie since Tyler Reddick finished fourth in 2011.

-Brian Birkhofer won his third LMKN Saturday B Main, an event record.

-Both Preliminary winners, Shane Clanton and Ricky Weiss won for the first time at Knoxville Raceway. This happened for the second consecutive year with Brandon Sheppard and Tyler Erb both winning firsts in 2018.
