SprintCarUnlimited.com Ups the Ante for a Perfect Night

Friday, July 6, 2018
David Gravel did the nearly impossible in the 2017 5-hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Store. The Connecticut-native earned a perfect score – 500 points – during his Nationals qualifying night, by setting fast time, winning his heat race and winning the feature event. The feat had not been accomplished in 25 years. At that time, Gravel was just two months old.

The “perfect night” impressed the fans and Jeremy Elliott, owner and operator of SprintCarUnlimited.com, an online, in-depth sprint car racing news site. SprintCarUnlimited.com already sponsors the 5-hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Store pole award, giving $2,000 to the highest scorer across both qualifying nights. In 2018, however, Elliott is raising the stakes.

"After watching Gravel's historic run to a perfect preliminary night score, we wanted to up the ante to the drivers," said Elliott. "By offering a bonus for a perfect qualifying night, it allows SprintCarUnlimited.com to become an even bigger part of this historic event.”

If the pole sitter earns the position with a perfect score, he or she will now receive a $1,000 bonus, making the prize worth $3,000. If two perfect scores are accomplished, something that was only done in 1990, both drivers will split the $3,000 prize.

Elliott will also have a SprintCarUnlimited.com booth set up throughout the four-day event at Knoxville Raceway. Any fan who visits the booth during that time will receive a free one-month subscription to SprintCarUnlimited.com.

"It's an honor to be associated with Knoxville Raceway and to give back to drivers and fans through the Pole Award and free subscriptions to the website. I hope to be a part of the Knoxville Nationals for years to come."

The 58th Annual 5-hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Store begin on Wednesday, August 8 and conclude with the 50-lap feature event on Saturday, August 11. Tickets are available online at www.knoxvilleraceway.com and also by calling the ticket office at 641-842-5431.
