Craig cut his teeth racing at Knoxville and then headed for the road. The second generation racer was Knoxville's Most Improved Driver in 1994, the All Star Circuit of Champions Rookie of the Year in 1996 and was the World of Outlaws Gumout champion in 2000. Craig won the World Challenge at the Nationals in 2010.

"The Crowd Pleaser" has finished in the top three in WoO points on three occasions: 2002 (3rd), 2005 (3rd), 2006 (2nd). In 16 Knoxville Nationals appearances, Craig has qualified for the finale 14 times, with ten top ten finishes. His biggest win as a Knoxville local racer was a WoO win in June of 1995.
