Bio:

Matt Moro’s dream of a Knoxville track championship was realized in 2008, twelve years after he was the 360 Rookie of the Year in 1996. He repeated the feat in 2017. In 2021, Matt would finish seventh in 360 points, his fifteenth top ten run in a row. He has a total of eight top five point finishes in the 360 class. Matt is a two-time 360 "Sportsman of the Year" (2010, 2018) and was "Owner of the Year" in 2017.

Matt started in the kart ranks in 1993 before his jump to sprint cars. Following his year in the 360’s, he jumped to the 410 class in 1997 driving for father and fellow racer, Tony. His prowess in the 360 class remained, as he took one of the 2000 360 Nationals prelims, finishing second to Wayne Johnson in the finale. He also finished that season with his highest 410 season finish (3rd).

Matt competed from 2001-2003 as an owner/driver (two years in the 410 class) before joining forces with legendary car owners, Gil and Donnie Sonner in 2004. They partnered on a top five point run that season, including a fourth place run with the World of Outlaws in July. The partnership would last through 2006, before Matt would reassume owner/driver duties, this time with the 360’s. His days in the 410's saw three "Most Improved Driver" Awards (1999, 2000, 2004).

In 2009, Matt was named 360 “Junior Fan Club” Driver of the Year for the third time. He won the 410 honor in 2000, the first year of the award.
