Bio:

Johnny “Hollywood” Herrera returned to weekly Knoxville competition in 2009. The 1995 track champion drove for veteran car owner Larry Woodward and captured another track championship. Johnny spent many years with the World of Outlaws, and garnered Rookie of the Year honors in 1986 with the series.

The biggest victory of Johnny’s career remains the 1996 King’s Royal at Eldora Speedway worth $50,000. The win came despite a collapsed top wing, and remains one of the more popular victories in the history of the event. The New Mexico native has won 15 career features with the WoO, and also garnered “Most Improved Driver” honors with the series in 1991.

Johnny has well over 100 wins to his credit, and has won at Knoxville on fifteen occasions (tied for 20th all-time). He was a one-time 12-lap record holder here, and has competed in 12 Knoxville Nationals finales in 20 competitions including seven top ten finishes.
