Knoxville Raceway to host inaugural “Iowa vs. Iowa State” Competition on HyVee Night

Wednesday, May 10, 2017
Iowa's biggest rivalry is about to come to a head at Knoxville Raceway. Hawkeyes vs. Cyclones. Which school should we cheer for? We’re letting the fans decide.

On HyVee Night, Saturday, May 13, Knoxville Raceway is encouraging fans in attendance to wear the apparel of their favorite school and to make their vote count. Clearly labeled buckets for each school will be placed at the front gates of the track and also carried through the grandstands. To vote for a school, simply make a donation – of ANY amount – in your school’s bucket.

At the end of the night, the school with the most donations is declared the winner and that school’s flag will fly under the American flag in the Knoxville Raceway infield until Iowa vs. Iowa State in 2018!

All money donated will go to the charity chosen by the school. The University of Iowa has chosen the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. All donations to Iowa State University will go to the school’s general scholarship fund.

The winning school and amounts raised will be announced during Victory Lane ceremonies following the 410 A-Main.
