The first qualifying event for the 23rd annual SPEED SPORT Knoxville World Challenge takes place Wednesday night at the Porter Hire International Sprintcar Series at Robertson Holden International Speedway in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Competing on this night will the greatest Sprintcar driver in the world, Steve Kinser, one of the real drawcards. He will be joined on track by fellow American's Brad Loyet, Jonathan Allard and Ricky Logan, along with New Zealand's best Sprintcar drivers.

Steve Kinser is a 20-time World of Outlaws series champion and has won 577 A-Mains, but he didn't have the best luck on Sunday night during the opening round at Western Springs and will be keen to make amends. Brad Loyet had a much better run, finishing third after starting way back in the grid.

Jonathan Allard blitzed the field in the opening round but has mixed fortunes at Arena Manawatu, so it will be great to see how things pan out for the former New Zealand champion. Current 2nz Ricky Logan certainly knows his way around this track, and will need all of that knowledge in the 30-lap final.

Jamie Duff won his New Zealand title here last season and will be keen to show he can do it again, although he and his brother Steve Jr. had a tough night on Sunday. Former national champions Dean Brindle, Rodney Wood and Jamie McDonald have the class to prevail, and six-time NZ Midget champion Michael Pickens has plenty to prove behind the wheel of his Sprintcar. Local hotshots 82p Jamie Larsen and 21w Stephen Taylor also have the speed to provide an upset.

There is a live stream for this event at http://stream.videohub.co.nz/ which starts at 1:00am Eastern time, Midnight Central locally in Iowa on Wednesday morning.
