Kart Racing Returns to Knoxville Raceway Tonight!

Tonight at the Knoxville Raceway will be the First Annual Marion County Fair Outlaw Dirt Kart races! This is a special event for the Karts that normally race on Friday nights at the English Creek Raceway located 10 miles south of Knoxville. The Karts will be racing on a special track built on the west side of the front stretch and where the work area normally is. All 7 of their classes will compete. Hot Laps are at 6:30pm. Tickets are only $5 for adults and kids 19 & under are free.

This is the first time “karts” have raced at Knoxville Raceway since they raced on the half mile in 1990, 91, and 92. Looking back at some winners back then in the history books were drivers such as Joe Beaver, Randy Anderson, Bob Hildreth, and BJ Carter of Oskaloosa won a record five features in that three year run. After a 22 year absence karts are back and lot of new drivers will be looking to add their name into the Knoxville Raceway history book!

Several drivers who currently race at Knoxville Raceway in sprint cars that started their racing career at English Creek Raceway include; Jamie Ball, McKenna Haase, Austin McCarl, Carson McCarl, Dakota Hendrickson, Devin Kline, Tony Shilling, Serena Paul, Cody Ambers, & Alan Ambers.
